At Capital Beltway (Interstate 495) take Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD-295) south. Pass exits East Capital Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Take the exit for Suitland Parkway. DO NOT GET OFF THE RAMP. Follow the ramp around a full 360 degrees and re-enter Interstate 295 north. Take the first exit for Washington Navy Yard and Interstate 395. Go over the bridge and get into the right middle lane. Merge right following signs for the Washington Navy Yard. Immediately after crossing the bridge take the fork in the road to the LEFT. Come to a light and make a wide LEFT turn at the light. DO NOT GO BACK OVER THE BRIDGE. Go through the light and proceed to the stop sign, which is O Street and make a LEFT. Park near the fire hydrant and see the white sign: Anacostia Community Rowing Center.

Take Interstate 95 north through Wilmington to Interstate 76 West (Schuylkill Expressway). This takes you across the Penrose Ave. Bridge across Schuylkill (aka Rt 291). Stay in the left lane and turn left at first light onto 26th Street. This merges you onto Interstate 76 West. Follow Interstate 76 West approximately 8 mile to Exit 340. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right, but get into the left lane as you go over City Avenue Bridge across the Schuylkill River. Stay left and follow signs for Kelly Drive. The ramp will spiral downward in a counter-clockwise direction and will merge you onto Kelly Drive, southbound. Be very careful, especially if you are pulling a boat trailer on this tight, descending curve! Move to right lane of Kelly Drive after merging at the bottom of the spiral. Take Kelly Drive past four traffic lights.
The first building on the right, between the river and Kelly Drive, is the Canoe Club, where all out-of-town crews launch, except for Dad Vails or Stotesbury. Park here, except for Dad Vails or Stotesbury. For Dad Vails or Stotesbury, continue another 3/4 mile to the Athlete's Village near the Three Angels. Or continue two miles on Kelly Drive to Boathouse Row.

Alternate Route
Stay on Interstate 95 north until you get to Interstate 676. Exit from Interstate 95 onto Interstate 676 (near the Ben Franklin Bridge). Follow 676 West until you reach 22nd Street and then exit for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Turn right on 22nd Street but get in the left lane as quickly as possible so you may turn left on Ben Franklin Parkway. Follow the Parkway around the circle to the left keeping the Museum on your left. Follow signs to Kelly Drive. At some point, Kelly Drive may be blocked off at which time, you follow the signs to Regatta parking.
Interstate 95 north to Philadelphia. Take the Ben Franklin Bridge into New Jersey. Take the first exit on Route 30. Follow signs for Route 70 and go east. Exit at Cuthbert Blvd. Turn right off the exit. Take the first right onto North Park Blvd. Enter on the left.

Alternate Route
Interstate 95 north to Interstate 295 into New Jersey. Exit Route 70 West; Head south on Cuthbert Blvd. to Park Blvd. and take right to parking area.

Parking
If the lot in front of the building is full, you may want to try parking on the street, or in the lot diagonally across the street under the highway. Both lots are free.

From Baltimore Inner Harbor
Go south on Light Street past the Maryland Science Center. Continue on Light Street about 7 blocks to E. Ostend Street. Turn right and go about 5 blocks. E. Ostend Street becomes W. Ostend Street. Turn right onto Sharp Street. Make an immediate right turn into parking lot.

From BWI airport (Prince George's County via Baltimore Washington Parkway)
From Airport Exit, take Interstate 195 W to MD-295/Baltimore Washington Parkway north toward Baltimore. Go about 6.5 miles into Baltimore. The Baltimore Washington Parkway becomes Russell Street. Turn right onto Haines Street (between the BP Station and Motel). Go one block and turn left onto Warner Street. Go 3 short blocks and cross railroad tracks. Turn right onto W. Ostend Street. Go over bridge and turn left at the traffic light at the end of the bridge. This is Sharp Street. Make an immediate right into parking lot.

From the south (Interstate 95) (Montgomery County, Columbia)
Go north on Interstate 95 to Exit 52 Russell Street. Immediately after the ramp merges into Russell Street, turn right onto Haines Street (between BP Station and Motel). Go one block and turn left onto Warner Street. Go 3 short blocks and cross railroad tracks. Turn right onto W. Ostend Street. Go over bridge and turn left at the traffic light at the end of the bridge. This is Sharp Street. Make an immediate right into parking lot.

From the south (Interstate 97) (Annapolis, Southern Maryland, lower Eastern Shore)
Go north on Interstate 97 to Interstate 695 Baltimore Beltway. Take north exit toward Towson. Go about 2 miles to MD-295/Baltimore Washington Parkway. Take north exit toward Baltimore. Go about 3 miles into Baltimore. The Baltimore Washington Parkway becomes Russell Street. Turn right onto Haines Street (between BP Station and Motel). Go one block and turn left onto Warner Street. Go 3 short blocks and cross railroad tracks. Turn right onto W. Ostend Street. Go over bridge and turn left at light at the end of the bridge onto Sharp Street. Make an immediate right into parking lot.

From the north (Harford County, upper Eastern Shore)
Take Interstate 95 south through the Fort McHenry Tunnel. Immediately after the tunnel, take exit number 55, toward Fort McHenry National Monument/Key Highway. Merge onto E. McComas Street, which goes under Interstate 95. Go about 1 mile and turn right onto S. Hanover Street. Go about 7 blocks and turn left onto W. Ostend Street. Turn right onto Sharp Street. Make an immediate right into parking lot.

From the west (Ellicott City, Carroll, Frederick, and western Maryland)
Take Interstate 70 east to Interstate 695 Baltimore Beltway. Take south exit toward Glen Burnie. Go about 4 miles to Interstate 95. Go north on Interstate 95 to Exit 52 Russell Street. Immediately after the ramp merges into Russell Street, turn Right onto Haines Street (between BP Station and Motel). Go one block and turn left onto Warner Street. Go 3 short blocks and cross railroad tracks. Turn right onto W. Ostend Street. Go over the bridge and turn left at light at the end of the bridge onto Sharp Street. Make an immediate right into parking lot.

Take either Interstate 95 to the Commodore Barry Bridge to Interstate 295 N and go north to Rt 1 (Princeton area) OR take Interstate 95 north thru Philadelphia into NJ and look for signs for Rt 1 North, New Brunswick (Princeton). The first Rt. 1 sign you see will be while you are still on Interstate 95 in PA. DO NOT take this exit. You want the 2nd Rt 1 sign which you will see when you are in NJ. Once on Rt 1, very quickly look for Quaker Bridge Rd (overpass at Quaker Bridge Mall). Go south on Quaker Bridge Rd (533) Go 2 miles to Hughes Drive which is AFTER the 3rd traffic light, NOT at the 3rd traffic light. Turn left onto Hughes Dr. (the Van Nest Wildlife Refuge is near the left corner) Stay on Hughes to entrance to Mercer County Park on left.

This is the main route, using Interstate 95. Should Interstate 95 or Hanover Street be unavailable, please try the alternate route below.

From Interstate 83: Take Interstate 83 south to Lombard Street. Make a right and follow Lombard through downtown Baltimore to Howard Street. Make a left onto Howard Street, and veer left as Howard Street becomes Interstate 395 south. Stay to the right and take the exit ramp for Interstate 95 north (toward New York). Stay in the far right lane and take exit 54 onto for Hanover Street (MD-2). Cross the drawbridge. At the first traffic light after the drawbridge, make a right onto Waterview Avenue. The rowing club is the red-roofed building on the right.

From within Baltimore City. Take Light Street south toward Federal Hill. Turn right on Cross St. Go two blocks to Hanover Street and make a left. Stay on Hanover Street and cross the drawbridge. At the first traffic light after the drawbridge, make a right onto Waterview Avenue. The rowing club is the red-roofed building on the right.

From the north: Take Interstate 95 south through the Fort McHenry tunnel. Stay in the far right lane. Take the first exit toward Key Highway immediately after exiting the tunnel. Turn left at second traffic light onto Hanover Street. Cross the drawbridge. At the first traffic light after the drawbridge, make a right onto Waterview Avenue. The rowing club is the red-roofed building on the right.

From the south: Take Interstate 95 north to exit 54 onto Hanover Street (MD-2). Cross the drawbridge. At the first traffic light after the drawbridge, make a right onto Waterview Avenue. The rowing club is the red-roofed building on the right.

If Interstate 95 or Hanover Street is closed, take this alternate route (using MD-295).

From within Baltimore City
  • Take MD-295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) south out of the city, about one mile
  • Exit right at Annapolis Road (MD-648)

From the south Go east on Rt. 50 over the Bay Bridge until it intersects with Rt. 301. (Middletown is approximately 1 hour from the Bay Bridge). Continue on 301 north into Delaware. One half mile past 301 Hess Truck Stop you will come to a traffic light; turn right at the light onto Rt. 299. At the light in the center of town (bank on the left), turn right onto Rt. 71. Continue for 1.3 miles (past the Middletown Middle School, past Old St. Anne's Church) until you come to Noxontown Road (Rd. 38) on your left. Turn left and go exactly .8 mile; St. Andrew's main entrance, marked by stone pillars, is on your right. For visiting crews and spectators, go past the main school entrance cross bridge over Noxontown Pond and turn right into gated area.

From the north
Take Interstate 95 north to Delaware state line. About 1 mile after tollbooth, exit onto Rt. 896 south; continue on Route 896 for 10 miles to a traffic light where the road becomes Rt. 301/71. (Do not turn left where sign points 896 to Rt. 13.) Continue through the traffic light for 3 miles to the next light. Immediately after Dunkin Donuts bear to the left. Go left across railroad tracks until you reach the third traffic light in the center of town. Turn left onto Main Street, Route 299 East. At the third light take a right onto Silver Lake Road. Proceed until it ends at Noxontown Road. Cross Noxontown Road and enter through the stone pillars.

Take Interstate 95 south past the Capital Beltway. Exit at Lorton Road (Exit 163, Rt 642). Turn right on Lorton to head West about 1.6 miles. Turn right on Furnace Road. Right again on Ox Road (Route 123) and stay on for 1.2 miles. Left on Hampton Road and stay on for about 1/2 mile. Left on Van Thompson and follow it about 1/4 mile to the park entrance. Usually a parking fee is charged on regatta days. Fee varies.

Follow the ramp around a full 360 degrees and re-enter Interstate 295 north. Take the first exit for Washington Navy Yard and Interstate 395. Take right exit for Independence/Maine Ave. You must cross over Rock Creek Parkway turning right and end up in the farthest left lane. Continue to veer into left lanes as road splits several times. You should end up in the lane closest to the Potomac River and traveling in front of the Kennedy Center the wrong way but at the right time of day. After 1/2 mile you will get to the Thompson Boat Center parking lot stoplight, turn left into Thompson lot. This lot is often reserved for trailers, but there are a number of paid-parking facilities in the area.

From the junction of the PA Turnpike (Interstate 276), the Schuylkill Expressway (Interstate 76) and Route 202 in King of Prussia, proceed north on 202 to Business 202 ("DeKalb St. Bridgeport"). Bear left at the first light (staying on DeKalb) and go straight through the next light (junction with Route 23). At the next light, turn left into the parking lot for "Sunsational", proceeding about 300 yards along the river to the boathouse bay.
From Interstate 95 north, take the Blue Route (Interstate 476) north to the Conschohocken Route 23 exit. Go west on Route 23, following it to the junction with DeKalb St. Turn right on DeKalb and at the next light, turn left into the parking lot for "Frosty Falls" and/or "Sunsational", proceeding about 300 yards behind these businesses along the river on the dirt road leading to the boathouse bay.
From the Schuylkill Expressway (Interstate 76) East or West, take the Conschohocken Route 23 exit. Go west on Route 23, following it to the junction with DeKalb St./Route 202. Turn right on DeKalb and make a left at the first light, into the "Sunsational" parking lot. Follow about 300 yards along the river to the boathouse bay.

Take Interstate 97 south to Route 50 east to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Stay on Route 50 east until you come to Route 213 south, about 14 miles after the Bay Bridge and 5 miles after the Route 50/301 split. Turn right on Route 213 south and proceed 1 mile to Wye Mills. Stay straight past an old church and the Wye oak tree. The road becomes Route 662 south. After about 2 miles, turn right onto Wye Landing Lane -- look for regatta signs. Continue on Wye Landing Lane 2.0 miles until you come to the dead end at Wye Landing. Park vehicles and trailers in designated areas.
