Visitors age 12 and up will tour the boathouse, get a crash course in indoor rowing (erging), along with the basics of the rowing stroke and a brief overview of the equipment used and programs offered at Baltimore Community Rowing. The visit culminates in an on-the-water rowing experience in an "eight" with an experienced coxswain and rowers to guide them (weather permitting).
Baltimore Community Rowing (BCR) promotes the sport of rowing for fitness, competition, and recreation for people of all ages and abilities. While striving to be a national leader in the sport of rowing, BCR is creating a membership that reflects the diverse Baltimore community in which it resides. BCR is a non-profit organization established in 1979 and located in the Cherry Hill area just south of Federal Hill and the Inner Harbor.
