Open Rowing

Open Rowing is a program for rowers with experience beyond an introductory rowing course, such as BCR's Learn to Row course. Goals of the group include increasing fitness, improving technique, and casual racing. The program accommodates a wide range of fitness levels, from those athletes who enjoy a more casual row to those who enjoy training for fitness and competition. 

Participation in regattas is not required, but opportunities are available for those athletes interested in competition. Coaches may designate certain days for specific types of workouts and may prescribe additional training to assist those who may need further development.

Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30-8:30 pm & Saturday, 8-10 am

Fee: Open Rowers must purchase an Annual Membership (returning members $265; new members $225) plus pay the program fee of $760 per year (this can be paid in full or billed in 8 automatic recurring payments).
*These fees are non-refundable and do not include incidental costs for individuals who choose to race, such as uniform and regatta participation fees. 
**New members joining during the season will receive a pro-rated fee based on number of months remaining in the program season.

Competitive Rowing

Competitive rowing for athletes interested in maintaining a high level of fitness and developing both sweep and sculling skills for competition. Athletes must be willing and available to engage in training program to meet these goals. Fitness, technical skills, attendance, effort and work ethic, and competitive goals will be considered by the coaches when boating for practice and competition. Although participation in regattas is not required, workouts are geared toward competing in national and regional regattas throughout the year.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5:15-7 am and Saturday 5:45-8 am

Day Rowing

Day Rowing is a program for those with flexible schedules, who would like to row later in the morning. Goals of the group include increasing fitness, improving technique, and casual racing.

The program accommodates a wide range of fitness levels, from those athletes who enjoy a more causal row to those who enjoy training for fitness and competition. Spring and Fall sessions are offered. Each session lasts for two months.

Wednesday and Friday, 9:30-11:30 am

Fee
: Day Rowers must purchase an Annual Membership (returning members $265; new members $225) plus pay the program fee of $95 per month paid for each two month session.
*Base fees do not include incidental costs for individuals who choose to race, such as uniform and regatta participation fees.

Summer Collegiate Rowing

Are you a college athlete looking to maintain your conditioning when you're away from school? Join other collegiate and U23 athletes at BCR. 

Summer Program dates and times TBD. 

Fee
: 2021 Collegiate Rower Membership is $150. Collegiate Rowers/U23 rowers pay $95 per month for coached programs. These payments are processed and recur automatically for the months a rower is participating in programming at BCR.

Equipment Use and Storage

Bow-certified Baltimore Community Rowing Members may purchase an annual Equipment Use Permit or purchase Private Storage. 

Please email admin@baltimorerowing.org  for access to these fee options.

Equipment Use Fee:  All bow-certified BCR Members who have paid equipment use fees are entitled to the use of club shells and oars subject to applicable BCR safety regulations and competency certifications. Coached programs retain priority usage of club equipment during their designated program times. Equipment may be used when not in use by a coached program. Rowers are responsible for coordinating with coached programs to determine equipment availability.

Purchase of an Annual Membership is required and a USRowing Waiver must be signed prior to use of club equipment. Please review our Equipment Use Policy here. 2021 Rates: $300 for Equipment Use.

Rack and Oar Storage:  This fee covers rack space for the storage of private boats and oars for one calendar year. A paid Annual Membership is required if storing your boat at BCR. If reserving a rack space for the first time, please contact admin@baltimorerowing.org to confirm space available before paying this fee. 2021 Rates:  Rack and oar storage - 1x is $340, rack and oar storage - 2x is  $440, oar storage only $50.
